Hello. My name is Anita

I am a journal designer, a storyteller, and a supporter of all who are open to receiving support. I am a woman living a successfully sober life.

My journey has not always been smooth and easy. I've not only survived it all, but I have come out on top (by my very own estimation). Here is some of my story:

My mother was killed when I was seven, and then, I spent nearly ten years being moved from home to home. I ended up, eventually, in the foster care system of the state where I lived. Like many who suffer early loss, I searched for relief in places that could not truly help me. I turned to alcohol in my early adult years. I thought it would soften the pain of confusion and help me cope. Spoiler: not so much. Years passed while I kept searching and researching — looking outward for what could only be found within.

I finally stopped drinking, gained clarity, and started listening — listening to myself, to my pain, and to my possibilities. That is when journaling became my anchor. Through writing, I began to uncover who I truly am. The page gave me space to ask hard questions and remain present when I got honest answers. Healing unfolded slowly and steadily. I came to understand that I was not alone. And, I was not broken.

I now remind others that they hold value. When they are confused or frustrated, their value is not diminished; possibly clouded. It is why I strongly encourage people to choose connection rather than isolation, to choose reflection rather than avoidance, and, when possible, to choose the journal as a companion.

My Blooming Creativity was born from listening, learning, and healing. The education I have been afforded exists in many forms — a YouTube channel, growing Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram communities, author pages on Amazon and Lulu, and a blooming collection of thoughtfully designed journals. At its heart, My Blooming Creativity remains what it has always been — a refuge and a safe, steady place where I treasure what I have learned and offer it forward.

Life continues to bring challenges — that is how I know I am doing life — but now I meet it all with clarity, creativity, and compassion. I know everything is already okay.

If my story speaks to you, I invite you to walk alongside me.

We can bloom — together.
